Through the Brown-NIH Graduate Partnership, students engage in a distinctive training experience that combines Brown University’s academic excellence with the expansive research opportunities available at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The Brown-NIH Graduate Program Partnership allows participants to take advantage of the best of two worlds - the prestigious academic environment of Brown University and the breadth and depth of research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). At the NIH, graduate students work in a highly research-focused and collaborative environment with leading scientists and clinicians.  They also share the NIH campus with the largest translational research hospital in the nation. This atmosphere creates a graduate experience focused on training the next generation of scientific leaders by emphasizing communication, collaboration , integration of information, and interdisciplinary investigation.

About the Program

Students in the Neuroscience Graduate Program Partnership spend their first year on Brown's campus in Providence along , where they engage in coursework and research, build connections across programs, and begin defining their thesis focus.
